POSITION: Human Resources Director

  • The right candidate must have government defense contracting experience supporting a geographically dispersed workforce with a diverse set of benefits plans;
  • Coordinates company compliance with all existing governmental and labor legal and government reporting requirements including, but not limited to any related to the Davis Bacon, Service Contract Act including H&W benefits compliance, Equal Employment Opportunity, the Americans With Disability Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, Employee Retirement Income Security Act, the Department of Labor, worker compensation, Occupational Safety and Health Administration;
  • Serves as centralized point for WD and CBA information;
  • Provide support to all unionized locations; provide HR participation in negotiations and interpretation of Collective Bargaining Agreements. Handle grievance procedures, employee assessments, job evaluations, hourly recruiting and new employee orientation as well as supervisory training and employee relations as it relates to represented employees;
  • Monitors compliance with WD and CBA agreements;
  • Notifies manager (Controller) responsible for contracts and payroll of any changes in WD or CBAs affecting pay rates;
  • Oversee and manage HR department; manage, mentor and coach HR staff;
  • Proficient in the development and reporting of Affirmative Action plan and Compensation Plan and other regulatory policy compliance documents;
  • Develop HR policies, procedures, and practices and ensure they are implemented successfully at all levels;
  • Manage all HR programs including: performance management, training, employment law compliance, compensation, benefits, employee relations, rewards and recognition, and retention;
  • Conduct new employee orientations to small and large audiences;
  • Manage all HR related functions during new contract phase-in/transitions;
  • Monitor and recommend changes to compensation system that reflect current market conditions;
  • Determine and recommend employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation;
  • Directs the implementation of performance management systems that includes performance reviews and employee development plans;
  • Demonstrated Corporate Benefits budget development and management;
  • Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict confidentiality in matters that require discretion;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines, taking a hands-on role when necessary;
  • Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced, growing organization;
  • Ability to work additional hours as needed; occasional travel may be required;
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing;
  • Proactively interact with the COO and other partners to strategically identify HR goals and objectives to ensure they are consistent with the business goals of the company.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Human Resources or a related discipline;
  • 7+ yrs exp performing the duties listed above and/or 5+ yrs of experience managing an HR department for a government defense contractor;
  • PHR/SPHR certification preferred.
  • Some travel required


POSITION: Administrative Assistant/ Human Resources and General Corporate Support

Be a team player and move up fast with Erica Lane Enterprises, Inc.! We currently have an opening for an energetic and skilled Administrative Assistant for Human Resources and Corporate Executive Support. We are looking for a versatile assistant with skills and experience in:

  • Processing government security clearances
  • Administering employee benefits
  • Processing payroll
  • Document publishing
  • General office administration
  • Accounting background very desirable
  • Experience in government contracting environment preferred

DUTIES:

Government Security Clearance Processor (30% of time)

  • Serves as assistant to the Company's FSO
    • Maintains employee security files
    • Processes clearances
    • Proficient in the use of JPAS
    • Prepares for DSS Audits
    • Stays abreast of security requirements to keep company compliant
    • Trains/educates employees in security requirements

HR Assistance (40% of time)

  • Processes benefits elections and changes for 250 employees in multiple states.
  • Processes new and terminated employees (paperwork only)-including phase in of contracts
    • Logs benefits taken, pay rate and deductions authorized and forwards log to payroll and controller for review with each payroll
  • Receives all incoming phone calls and eventually emails from employees-
    • Logs these communications for forwarding to HR manager and controller at least daily
  • Maintains employee files
  • Assists managers in recruiting
    • Places employment ads as authorized by executive staff
  • Receives unsolicited resumes and routes them in accordance with company policy
  • Assumes primary responsibility for birthday cards and other employee morale functions

Administrative Assistant (20% of time)

  • Assists in document preparation
    • Correspondence and proposals
  • Manages documents as requested including, but not limited to:
    • Scanning, shredding, filing, copying
  • Receives all incoming mail and date stamps envelope
    • Routes mail to designated executive unopened
  • Prepares outgoing mail
    • Correspondence for staff; FedEx/UPS packages
  • Property inventory control - tag all new equipment and maintain inventory file

Receptionist (10% of time)

  • Serves as receptionist as needed
    • Answers all incoming phone calls not direct dialed to an extension
    • Logs in Excel/Word all incoming phones calls listing caller, time, purpose of call, staff member to whom the message is to be routed
  • Routes calls to staff members if caller needs immediate response
  • Log is forwarded by email to appropriate staff members (staff member to respond to call and controller/Ida) before leaving for day
    • Greet visitors coming into front office

Experience/Education:

  • Minimum of 2 years work experience in a professional office environment. Education may not substitute for this.
  • Two years university level education preferred but 4 years work experience may substitute
